JUNE BOONE INTERVIEWWhen did you know you wanted to be an artist?I have always been drawn to the arts.
In high school, I expressed my artistic side mostly in photography.
I received my degree in Fine Art focusing on painting and drawing in 2000.
Are there any artists that have particularly influenced your work?I am influenced by artists such as Manuel Neri, Mark Rothko, El Greco and Amedeo Modigliani.
I love the painting Immanence, and the other paintings of women in your collection. What was your inspiration for these, and do you use models? The themes in my work are about discovery of spirit, life’s journey and growth. My artwork tries to capture the instance of spiritual discovery and awareness of self in this divine space. I mostly paint women because I am one and I believe they represent beauty, strength, and grace. I have used models but mostly work from images and photos.
How has your _style_ evolved over the years?I have been painting for ten years now and I believe my painting reflects the stages and emotions of my life journey.
You have beautiful skin, what is your skin care regimen?Thank you, I drink lots of water, try to stay out of the sun and always wear sunscreen.
I cleanse and moisturize daily and exfoliate weekly.
Does your teenager steal your skincare products and makeup? No, she has her own. She loves your acne management face wash. It does wonders for her skin.
